We’re working to help people with chronic conditions thrive

Swing Therapeutics is developing digital therapies that help people with chronic illness live their best lives. We are working on our first treatment aimed at the management of fibromyalgia, with other autoimmune and chronic pain conditions to follow.

Digital therapies to change lives

Developing evidence-backed treatments

At Swing, we are building digital solutions for chronic diseases with an evidence-backed approach, starting with fibromyalgia. Our team is focused on increasing access to therapies for more people through the power of software-based treatments.

  • Developing engaging behavioral therapies using sophisticated software that fits into peoples’ lives.
  • Creating solutions that respond to the unique needs of each disease.
  • Collaborating with a global panel of experts, increasing patient access to cutting-edge research.

Our goal: close the gap with accessible digital behavioral therapies

We believe people should be able to choose the right treatment for their unique experience with chronic illness. Swing is working to make it easier for people with chronic conditions to digitally access cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based treatments, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Our approach can be combined with other treatments.

Our team has recently completed a pilot study of our investigational, digital treatment, for the management of fibromyalgia, and we are currently planning additional trials, in collaboration with leading clinicians and researchers around the country.

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. A key mechanism behind fibromyalgia is central pain sensitization, which occurs when the nervous system gets locked in a persistent state of high reactivity. Similar to being easily startled, the nervous system can become easily triggered and result in more frequent and intense pain.

Why behavioral therapy?

Our programs are poised to incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) — a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that helps people learn how to cope with their pain effectively and lessen the impact it has on their quality of life.

This approach has been well studied for helping successfully manage conditions like fibromyalgia.1

What is CBT?

CBT helps people become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively. CBT helps people learn how to better manage stressful life situations. CBT often includes learning and practicing techniques such as relaxation, coping, resilience, stress management, and assertiveness.

What is ACT?

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based form of CBT that focuses on accepting what’s outside our control and acting more on what brings fulfillment to life.

What is Symptom Tracking?

Symptom Tracking is a common pain management approach that includes daily monitoring of symptoms to identify symptom triggers and manage lifestyle choices.
